Shopping from around the world in Dubai
I went to Global Village a few weeks ago; I hadn't gone in a couple of years so I wanted to check out the different country pavilions for anything out there worth buying. Even thought it's more or less the same stuff as previous years, a shopaholic always manages to find something to buy! Check out my finds and buys after the jump!
Lebanon Pavilion
I found some really pretty gold-plated jewellery there, including these really awesome rings with your name (in Arabic). They didn't have my name, but the owner told me that they actually have a stand at the JBR market (opposite Paul at The Walk) and I can place an order to get it custom-made. Yay!
Thailand Pavilion
There was loads of stuff to check out here! From old school radio and tv-themed bags, to nerdy fake glasses to nail art, I was loving this pavilion.
And how cute are these branded button earrings, and Angry Bird rings? I ended up getting 4 pairs of button earrings- they're adorable!
There was also a stand where they can customize your gadget covers, keyrings etc. I must say, I was super impressed to find a Thai guy behind all this Arabic calligraphy! Unfortunately I had nothing to pimp up, but it's definitely something worth getting done at this stand if you're into that sort of thing.
Pakistan Pavilion
They had some beautiful bags and bracelets, all hand-made. I have no idea what the bag is going to go with, but I liked the colour and patterns and the overall design.
Africa Pavilion
This is my favourite part of Global Village, as they always have awesome woodworks and art. I ended buying a cute little hippo and a new set of coasters.
PurpleNano also found some fabulous things at the Lebanon Pavilion- check out her chic look, with shoes from the Lebanon Pavilion and a matching bag from the Thailand Pavilion!
